TexPTS Partners with Global Non-profit Organization to Help Comfort Children Suffering from Serious Illness

Texas Physical Therapy Specialists, a private physical therapy practice, is proud to announce its recent partnership with the global non-profit organization, Soaringwords.

(San Antonio, TX – April 19, 2013)

Texas Physical Therapy Specialists (TexPTS), a private physical therapy practice, is proud to announce its recent partnership with the global non-profit organization, Soaringwords. Soaringwords’ mission is to lessen the impact of serious illness by connecting ill children and their families to a community of compassionate and caring volunteers. TexPTS joined forces with the non-profit organization to help inspire local children and their families to heal and “Never give up!”

The inspiration for the children and their families was delivered in the form of quilts and pillows; decorated with messages of motivation, love, and encouragement. TexPTS staff members and patients decorated more than 85 red and white patchwork quilts and pillows and then delivered them to young patients at University Hospital in San Antonio and Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin.

“We are so honored to be a part of this great community effort that provides warmth, love, and compassion to children we wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to help in our out-patient clinics,” says Jeanne Smith, PT, DPT, OCS, TexPTS therapist and Director of People Operations.

Through both hospital and educational outreach programs, Soaringwords has reached more than 250,000 children and adults, schools in 30 states, and more than 100 hospitals. To learn more about the organization please visit www.SoaringWords.org.
