Ashley McKenney PT, DPT, CSCS
Ashley McKenney PT, DPT, CSCS
Ashley McKenney was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She is a proud alumna of the University of The Incarnate Word where she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitative Science. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Baylor University in Waco, Texas – Sic ’em Bears!!
Ashley is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). She is excited to further her knowledge in the field of physical therapy via continued education courses and specialty certifications.
When she’s not working in the clinic, Ashley enjoys spending time playing sand volleyball, frisbee golf and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her love for the outdoors, Ashley is also passionate about Olympic lifting and CrossFit.
Brooke McIntosh PT, DPT, OCS
Brooke McIntosh PT, DPT, OCS
Brooke McIntosh earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Prior to that, Brooke obtained her Exercise Science from Florida State University.
Brooke is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy (OCS) and is most interested in treating pediatric and geriatric populations.
In her free time, Brooke enjoys running and biking, exploring new San Antonio restaurants, and traveling.
Jamie Rodell PT, DPT
Jamie Rodell PT, DPT
Jamie graduated from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. After completing her undergraduate degree, she worked as an Ergonomic Analyst for Toyota Manufacturing until she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from South College in 2018.
As someone with a passionate interest in ergonomics, Jamie believes that patients should be able to live their best life at any age, no matter the injury or disability – and she wants to empower others through movement. She is also vested in giving back, currently doing so by serving as a Program Director for Kinetic Kids, a non-profit that helps children with special needs achieve new possibilities through fostering the development of courage, self-esteem, pride, and joy.
Outside of the clinic, Jamie prioritizes quality time with her loved ones and three adorable fur babies. She lives by the slogan, “A day without laughter is a day wasted,” and anyone who knows her can testify those are words she lives by. She also enjoys traveling, car karaoke, and being a food enthusiast!
Zachary J. Smith PT, DPT, COMT, CSCS
Zachary J. Smith PT, DPT, COMT, CSCS
Dr. Zachary J. Smith earned his Clinical Doctorate from the New York Institute of Technology. Prior to that, Zachary obtained his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Adelphi University.
Zachary is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist and a current resident in the sports medicine program at TexPTS. He volunteered at the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee training center in Colorado Springs, CO which further sparked his interest in specializing in sports medicine. Zachary is most interested in treating anything that relates to the spine.
In his free time, Zachary enjoys spending time with his husband and traveling the world to experience new cultures/experiences. He is also a competitive travel softball player as a shortstop and a competitive tennis player.
Giovanna Nuanes PT, DPT, LAT, FAAOMPT
Giovanna Nuanes PT, DPT, LAT, FAAOMPT
Giovanna Nuanes, PT, DPT, LAT, FAAOMPT earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (DPT) from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) in 2016. Prior to that, Giovanna obtained her master’s degree in athletic training from Texas State University and her undergrad degree from the University of the Incarnate Word in Athletic Training. Giovanna was a part of the Incarnate Word Softball Team and graduated as a Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT).
After graduating with her doctorate from UTEP, Giovanna obtained her fellowship through the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (FAAOMPT) from the Manual Therapy Institute. Giovanna has an extensive background in working with the youth and athletic population.
In her free time, Giovanna enjoys outdoor activities such as playing sand volleyball and softball, enjoying family time with her husband and daughter, and outdoor activities with their three dogs.
Clayton Labus PT, DPT, COMT
Clayton Labus PT, DPT, COMT
Originally from the small farming community of Hobson, Texas, Clayton comes to TexPTS with a Cum Laude Bachelor’s degree in Applied Exercise Physiology from Texas A&M University and his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center. Since obtaining his doctorate, Clayton has also received his certification in orthopedic manual therapy and aspires to become board-certified in sports and orthopedics.
Professionally, Clayton’s interests include advanced manual and soft tissue therapies, as well as taking an active role in the recovery and rehabilitation of his patients. He believes in the therapeutic power of movement and making sure his patients break a sweat.
True to his upbringing, Dr. Labus loves spending time outdoors, whether it takes the form of hunting, fishing, exercising, or working on his family’s ranch. Clayton is also an avid Texas A&M football fan and enjoys spending time listening to live music or hanging out with his family and friends.
Beth DeVos PT, DPT, CSCS
Beth DeVos PT, DPT, CSCS
Beth DeVos is the Clinic Director of the San Antonio – Alamo Heights location.
Originally from Austin, TX, Dr. Beth DeVos graduated from Trinity University with BS in Business Administration. Beth was part of the TU Track and Field team, where she focused on jumps and throws. A desire to lead an active lifestyle while helping others led Beth back to school to study Physical Therapy. Beth was part of the inaugural class of the first hybrid DPT program at South College in Knoxville, TN, where she graduated with honors. Beth began her career with Texas Physical Therapy Specialists as the first coverage PT in San Antonio, and had the benefit of working with and learning from a variety of specialties across the market. A long-time resident of Alamo Heights, Beth was eager to serve her community and jumped at the chance to develop the Sports Medicine Associates – TexPTS partnership clinic in her neighborhood.
Throughout school, Beth maintained her focus on fitness and health by coaching CrossFit and strength and conditioning classes. A founding coach of The Tribe Strength and Conditioning, she continues to lead weekend classes today. Beth enjoys staying active, traveling, and playing outdoors with her husband and children. Beth’s mission is to help others discover their full potential, and she believes that every day is a win.
Abraham Garcia PT, DPT
Abraham Garcia PT, DPT
Abraham Garcia earned his Clinical Doctorate from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Prior to that, Abraham obtained his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Arizona State University.
Abraham is currently a sports resident in the sports medicine program at TexPTS and is most interested in treating any sport-related condition.
In his free time, Abraham enjoys spending time with his wife and family, attending sporting events, and being outdoors – such as hiking.
