(San Antonio, Texas – September 04, 2013)

Texas Physical Therapy Specialists (TexPTS) and The Evidence In Motion (EIM) Institute of Health Professions would like to recognize Dr. Chris Baker, PT, DPT, MS, DC, DACBN, and Dr. Rob Wainner, PT, DPT, PhD, of TexPTS for completing the Executive Program in Private Practice Management with Postprofessional Doctorate of Physical Therapy and Dr. James Grace, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS, of TexPTS for completing the Executive Program in Private Practice Management.

EIM’s Executive Program, the first of its kind in the physical therapy field, is an MBA-style, 12-month educational program for physical therapists providing training in practice management and business administration. The program is designed to enhance the business savvy and sophistication of private practice physical therapy by teaching evidence-based business.

“The greatest benefit of the Executive Program is the expanding community of private practices that continue to collaborate and cross consult with each other well after the completion of the 12-month course,” states Larry Benz, DPT, OCS, MBA, EIM owner, and Executive Program Director. “These graduates are now better equipped for the challenging, ever-changing health care environment. We are fortunate to have an on-going strategic partnership with the Private Practice Section of the APTA which has broadened our reach of private physical therapy practices.”

Physical therapists who complete the program gain industry specific knowledge and best practice solutions in the areas of strategy, leadership, human resources, marketing, finance, legal, and business development. The program’s ultimate goal is to enhance the role of physical therapists in the delivery of cost effective health care. This program is especially beneficial with the current changes in the health care system.

The curricula is modeled after many of the top executive MBA programs in the country, utilizing a combination of online didactic and collaborative education experiences in a series of weekend intensive on-sites. This combined format demonstrates EIM’s commitment to a best-in-education approach. This is the exact approach that EIM was founded on and has successfully used to graduate over 200 physical therapists in its APTA credentialed Residency and Fellowship Programs.

Dr. Baker, Dr. Grace, and Dr. Wainner developed strong knowledge of evidence-based business and best practices and have integrated this knowledge into TexPTS. Not only will this knowledge strengthen TexPTS as an organization to obtain competitive advantages in the market place, but it will also strengthen the private practice community as a whole. In addition, Dr. Baker and Dr. Wainner received a Postprofessional Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the EIM Institute of Health Professions upon completion of the program by completing advanced coursework in Radiology, Medical Screening, Pharmacology and Evidence-based Practice.

With the added knowledge and experience gained from completing EIM’s Executive Program, the PT’s will now provide physical therapy care at a higher level to the communities of San Marcos, San Antonio, and Austin, Texas.
