Meet the Staff
Dr. Kelsey Birk earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) in Dallas. Prior to UTSW, she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology from the University of Texas at Austin (Hook ‘em!). She is an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), Certified in Dry Needling, a Certified Clinical Instructor, and also earned her Manual Therapy Certification through Evidence In Motion (EIM).
Dr. Birk enjoys treating patients with all musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions. With a background in both pediatrics and orthopedics, she has fun treating patients of all ages. She was drawn to the altruistic nature of the profession and loves helping her patients return to their previous level of function for improved quality of life.
When she’s not in the clinic, she partakes in all things health and fitness related. She spends her time training for races, strength training in the gym, or enjoying time
outdoors and hiking. As an Austin native, she loves taking advantage of the many things to do around Austin, whether it be spending time on the lake, listening to live music, or trying new restaurants.
Dr. Laura Contreras earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training (ATC) at the University of Texas at Austin (and maintains her license in Athletic Training) before earning her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston (UTMB). In addition to working at the clinic, she is currently working on her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) certification through the Orthopedic Residency Program through Evidence In Motion (EIM). She is also Certified in Dry Needling through the Institute of Athlete Rehabilitation (IAR).
While Dr. Contreras enjoys working with patient with a variety of musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions, she has a special interest in sports rehabilitation due to her background of athletic training. Her passion for the profession stems from the reward of helping her patients achieve their goals.
When she’s not in the clinic, she loves trying new food and coffee spots around Austin with friends, family, or her dog, Winston. For fun, she likes to do outdoor recreational activities such as running, hiking, and stand-up paddle boarding. She has gained a recent interest in climbing and lifting weights.
Kyle Hill earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the Medical University of South Carolina. Prior to that, Kyle obtained his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Clemson University.
Kyle is most interested in treating sports and orthopedic injuries.
In his free time, Kyle enjoys playing football, basketball, volleyball, and any other sport you can think of. Kyle has been skydiving, bungee jumping, and cliff diving and he wants to do them all again. Pre-COVID (and hopefully post-COVID) Kyle loved traveling. He has been to all but two continents and to 28 states. His goal is to get to all the continents and all the states in the U.S.
Dr. Reese is the Central Park Clinic Director.
Dr. Reese earned her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Regis University in Colorado. Dr. Reese is a graduate of the Evidence In Motion (EIM) Orthopedic and Manual Physical Therapy Residency program and is Board Certified as an Orthopedic Physical Therapy Specialist (OCS) by the American Physical Therapy Association.
She enjoys treating all orthopedic conditions with a special emphasis in soft tissue injuries and joint replacement surgeries. Dr. Reese is also the head of the TexPTS Cancer Recovery and Rehabilitation program and is a Certified Lymphedema Specialist. She is passionate about helping patients regain full function and return to normal activities after undergoing cancer treatment.
When she is not treating patients, Dr. Reese enjoys traveling, hiking, rock climbing, camping, mountain biking, and woodworking. She also enjoys taking her four dogs (Bailey, Morgan, Lykan, and Avery) for walks.

Even when there is not a pandemic, I think I would choose to do telehealth physical therapy because I’ve gotten great results in less time with a more flexible schedule. The ease of telehealth took away my excuses for not attending, which was half the battle.

Buck asks insightful questions and is a good listener. I feel we have established a clear picture of the issues, and continue to update this as the treatment evolves. Buck has assigned PT exercises which I see as insightful and get right to the core of the issues.

Courteous staff, excellent PTs, flexible scheduling. I highly recommend TexPTS. Excellent outcome with my shoulder therapy. Injuries happen; when anyone in my family needs a PT in the future, they’re headed to TexPTS!

The therapy I have received at Texas Physical Therapy Specialists is first rate in every regard. The entire team is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and compassionate. I have already made significant improvement in just three weeks.

I have had a great experience with everyone at Texas Physical Therapy Specialists. Such a friendly, laid back, and encouraging environment. They are on top of their game, and you can tell by the way they greet patients, work with them, and manage their team.

The folks at TexPTS are caring, thoughtful, and very professional. They truly care about your injury and want you to get better! I would recommend them highly to anyone in need of physical therapy!

The therapists, are very nice, friendly, knowledgeable, and encouraging. Their assistants and the office staff are equally as nice and friendly. The facility is clean and spacious. All this together makes for a very pleasant rehab experience!
