The therapists, are very nice, friendly, knowledgeable, and encouraging. Their assistants and the office staff are equally as nice and friendly. The facility is clean and spacious. All this together makes for a very pleasant rehab experience!

Meet the Staff
Dr. Reese is the Central Park Clinic Director.
Dr. Reese earned her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Regis University in Colorado. Prior to that she earned her Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Central Florida and her Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology from the University of Arizona. Dr. Reese is a graduate of the Evidence In Motion (EIM) Orthopedic and Manual Physical Therapy Residency program and is Board Certified as an Orthopedic Physical Therapy Specialist (OCS) by the American Physical Therapy Association.
She enjoys treating all orthopedic conditions with a special emphasis in soft tissue injuries and joint replacement surgeries. Dr. Reese is also the head of the TexPTS Cancer Recovery and Rehabilitation program and is a Certified Lymphedema Specialist. She is passionate about helping patients regain full function and return to normal activities after undergoing cancer treatment.
When she is not treating patients, Dr. Reese enjoys traveling, hiking, rock climbing, camping, mountain biking, and woodworking. She also enjoys taking her four dogs (Bailey, Morgan, Lykan, and Avery) for walks.
Karen Piacente is the Clinic Director of the Texas Physical Therapy Specialists Cedar Valley location.
Karen earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Duke University in 2014. She graduated from the University of Delaware with her Bachelors of Exercise Science and Biology Minor in 2011, where she also competed as a track and field athlete. Karen became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) in 2013 and completed Evidence In Motion’s Manual Therapy Certificate (MTC) program in 2016. Karen also recently achieved her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist certification through Evidence in Motion (EIM).
Her interests include manual therapy, evidence-based practice and patient-centered care for clients of all ages. She specializes in orthopedic conditions and inspires patients to achieve optimal outcomes.
Karen enjoys an active lifestyle and can be found running, swimming, practicing yoga or biking when she is not in the clinic. She also enjoys exploring the outdoors, catching live music and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Birk earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSMC) in Dallas. Prior to UTSMC, she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology from the University of Texas at Austin (Hook ‘em!). She is working toward her Manual Therapy Certification through Evidence In Motion (EIM) to further develop her hands on skills with patients.
Dr. Birk enjoys treating patients with all musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions. With a background in both pediatrics and orthopedics, she has fun treating patients of all ages. She was drawn to the altruistic nature of the profession and loves helping her patients to their previous level of function for improved quality of life.
While not in the clinic, she partakes in all things health and fitness related. She spends her time training for races, practicing yoga, strength training in the gym, or enjoying time outdoors and hiking. As an Austin native, she loves taking advantage of the many things to do around Austin, whether it be spending time on the lake, listening to live music, and trying new restaurants.
Dr. Prince earned his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He moved to Austin, TX to pursue his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and graduated with honors from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Dr. Prince is eager to learn more about different orthopedic conditions, and apply the most effective and evidence based interventions available for his patients. He is currently continuing his education with a residency through Evidence In Motion (EIM) to become an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS). Dr. Prince believes that his passion for physical therapy and continued education will translate and facilitate the most effective care for his patients.
When not at the clinic, Dr. Prince enjoys exploring Austin for the hikes, the food, and the arts. He stays active with running, basketball, and weight lifting. He also enjoys watching his favorite teams, the Philadelphia Eagles and 76ers. Dr. Prince looks forward to growth as an individual, and a health care provider as well as working alongside a great team at the Central location.
Dr. Lauren Stiles is a graduate of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Touro College in New York, and she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the State University of New York in Geneseo. Following PT school graduation Dr. Stiles continued her education through Evidence In Motion as an Orthopedic Resident and, in 2018, achieved her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist board certification.
Lauren has a passion for helping her patients achieve their full potential and enjoys treating patients of all ages and backgrounds. She applies evidence based practice and manual therapy techniques to match the needs of her individual patients.
Lauren was born and raised on Long Island, New York and moved to Austin in 2013. When she’s not in the clinic, she enjoys being active and exploring everything Austin has to offer. She also enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Micah is a native Austinite who attended Westlake High School and then went to study dance at Point Park University. She is a licensed esthetician and spin instructor. Micah attended Austin Community College to study Physical Therapy Assisting where she was a St. David’s Foundation scholarship recipient.
Micah loves to build personal relationships with her patients. Her specialties include soft tissue manual therapy, for focused stretching, and postural restraining.
When she is not at the clinic, Micah can be found studying Spanish, traveling internationally, or trying delicious food!
Dr. Cara Pineau graduated with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Kinesiology from the University of Rhode Island in 2015. Cara became inspired to become a physical therapist after successfully rehabbing a knee injury in High School. She grew a very strong appreciation for PT and felt inspired to help others recover from the physical, and emotional, effects of an injury. In May 2018, she graduated from the University of Rhode Island with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. She is currently working towards becoming Certified in Manual Therapy through Evidence in Motion (EIM) to expand her evergrowing PT tool kit.
Cara has previous experience in outpatient orthopedics and acute care physical therapy back in Little Rhody. Cara has a special interest in treating patients from all walks of life with various orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions. She enjoys the new challenges that come her way everyday as a clinician.
When she is not treating patients in the clinic, Cara enjoys catching up with friends and family. She loves spending time outdoors, riding her bike, attending work-out classes, and exploring all that Austin has to offer.
Byron is a recent graduate of the Physical Therapy Assistant program at South University in Round Rock. He is a native Texan from Mesquite who moved to Austin in 2008. He was drawn to the PT world by a desire to serve others more and was intrigued by the opportunity to help people improve their quality of life through the rehabilitation process. He enjoys meeting new people in the clinic every day and hearing their stories and making connections with them. He is currently working on completing his PTA Specialty Certification in Orthopedics.
Before life in the therapy world, Byron served on active duty in the United States Marine Corps from 2000-2006 as a Signals Intelligence Operator stationed in Pensacola, FL, Ft. Huachuca, AZ, and Kaneohe Bay, HI. He always enjoys crossing paths with fellow Veterans.
When he’s not in the clinic, Byron can be found completing projects at the new house his wife and he recently closed on in South Austin. He also enjoys planning his next trip to the mountains to snowboard, hike, or climb (poorly). He also enjoys being outdoors here in Austin or the surrounding beautiful hill country to camp or hike. He has fun playing with several nephews, visiting family when he can, and looks forward to starting a family of his own with his wife.
Dr. Sato received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington before earning her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) in the university’s 3-3 program in 2003. She began her practice in private outpatient physical therapy and spent over a decade in Tacoma, where she also became a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) by the American Physical Therapy Association. Dr. Sato later relocated to Boston and continued her career at Massachusetts General Hospital for several years before moving to Austin in 2019.
While Dr. Sato enjoys working with patients with a variety of orthopedic conditions, she has a special interest in post-operative and sports rehabilitation and plans to pursue a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification. Dr. Sato is also a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) and is passionate about treating this population as well as breast cancer patients and survivors.
When not in the clinic, Dr. Sato enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family. Originally from Hawaii, Dr. Sato feels at home in Austin’s warm weather climate which supports her active lifestyle geared toward hiking, swimming, biking, golf, soccer, and running. As a lifelong athlete (former collegiate soccer player) and avid sports fan, she loves to watch/attend sporting events, especially MLB games.
