Meet the Staff
Before moving to Austin, Dr. Barna attended Campbell University in North Carolina for both his undergraduate and graduate schooling. After earning his Doctorate of Physical Therapy, he continued his education by completing an orthopedic residency with Evidence in Motion and became an orthopedic clinical specialist.
Dr. Barna enjoys using his education and athletic background to treat athletes of all ages. He understands that every patient is different and enjoys creating individualized treatment plans to help patients return to what they love doing the most. When not in the clinic, Dr. Barna enjoys spending time outdoors, sports, and trying to find the best brisket in the Austin area.
Ellen Jordahl graduated from The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio (UTHSCSA) with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2018. She attended The University of Texas at Austin in 2012 where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. Ellen has completed the Sports Residency program through Evidence in Motion (EIM) to become a Board Certified Sports Clinical Specialist. She has pursued this path so she can better serve the athletic populations with specialized care. She is a member of the American National Physical Therapy Association (APTA). During her time at UTHSCSA, she was a research assistant for Regenesis studying diabetic neuropathy. Additionally, she helped conduct a study investigating mild traumatic brain injuries and post-concussion syndrome and how they affect multi-tasking and neuromotor control in daily life and returning to sport. Ellen is very passionate about helping athletes of all ages and backgrounds, specifically swimming, running and CrossFit due to her own passion in these fields.
Ellen has been a certified personal trainer and group exercise instructor since 2012 and has pursued this as a side job since graduating from UT Austin. She teaches strength and conditioning classes and spin. She loves to motivate others to maintain a healthy lifestyle so she can be at the forefront of health and wellness and would like to someday mix these two passions of hers. Ellen is currently working on her Power Athlete Certification so she can teach and instruct athletes at a higher level outside of the clinic. She will also be pursuing her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification in the near future.
