Meet the Staff
Dr. Justin Tanton graduated Magna Cum Laude from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He also possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sports Science from Texas State University – San Marcos. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and is currently pursuing a specialty from Evidence In Motion (EIM) to become an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS).
Justin is a former Division I Student Athlete as he played basketball for Texas State University. If he is not in the clinic treating patients, or at home with his family, he is probably out on a basketball court. He is also a former physical education teacher and uses his background knowledge to make rehabilitation as fun as possible while helping patients achieve their goals.
Dr. Laura Midura was born in Colorado and raised in Wisconsin. Her journey brought her to Texas, where she graduated from Concordia University with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. She later received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in Austin, Texas.
Prior to her career in physical therapy, she was in gymnastics as both an athlete and a coach for more than 20 years. Her involvement in gymnastics, as well as her growth and fascination with science and human anatomy, helped guide her to the profession of physical therapy. Before joining the TexPTS family, Laura worked with a home health agency providing physical therapy services for patients with various conditions including COPD, Parkinson’s Disease, and balance impairments. Laura chose physical therapy because it gives her the opportunity to serve others and the community by providing people with the tools they need to return to the activities they enjoy doing most. She is currently continuing her education with an Orthopedic Residency program with Evidence In Motion (EIM) and working towards becoming a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist (OCS).
When Laura is not working, she enjoys going out country dancing, playing with her dogs (Zeus and Olive), hiking the various trails of Austin, and playing board games/doing puzzles.
Gary Dees, Jr. is a Physical Therapist Assistant and received his Associate of Science in Science of Heath from Austin Community College.
Before starting his career, Gary was a licensed massage therapist for over 20 years with also five years as a fitness trainer specializing in corrective exercise. Since starting with TexPTS, he has received his PTA Specialty Orthopedic Certification and finished the Therapeutic Neuroscience Education course through Evidence In Motion (EIM). He enjoys helping patients return to their favorite hobbies and improve their quality of life.
When he is not in the clinic, Gary enjoys spending time with his wife and son, going on vacations, mountain biking at local and regional trails, and visiting local breweries and restaurants.

Courteous staff, excellent PTs, flexible scheduling. I highly recommend TexPTS. Excellent outcome with my shoulder therapy. Injuries happen; when anyone in my family needs a PT in the future, they’re headed to TexPTS!

The therapy I have received at Texas Physical Therapy Specialists is first rate in every regard. The entire team is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and compassionate. I have already made significant improvement in just three weeks.

I have had a great experience with everyone at Texas Physical Therapy Specialists. Such a friendly, laid back, and encouraging environment. They are on top of their game, and you can tell by the way they greet patients, work with them, and manage their team.

The folks at TexPTS are caring, thoughtful, and very professional. They truly care about your injury and want you to get better! I would recommend them highly to anyone in need of physical therapy!

The therapists, are very nice, friendly, knowledgeable, and encouraging. Their assistants and the office staff are equally as nice and friendly. The facility is clean and spacious. All this together makes for a very pleasant rehab experience!
