Meet the Staff
Jacon Chun is the Clinic Director of the Round Rock location.
Jacon received his Bachelors in Human BioDynamics from the University of California at Berkeley and his Masters of Physical Therapy from Samuel Merritt University. He has been a practicing clinician since that time and is a Board Certified Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS). He is also a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) through the National Athletic Trainer’s Association (NATA) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. (NSCA). He has worked with a wide array of patients from weekend warriors, to seniors, to professional athletes.
Jacon is a transplant to the Austin area after owning and operating his own private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area from 2007-2017. Before starting his own physical therapy clinic, he worked in the Sports Medicine Department at Stanford University from 2003-2006, helping to treat intercollegiate and Olympic athletes in over 34 different varsity sports. While at Stanford, he had the opportunity to work in a team setting, interacting with coaches, strength and conditioning specialists, and physicians to provide the best care possible to the student athletes. He has also served on the medical staff for the United States Fencing Association and worked with triathletes in beautiful Kailua-Kona, Hawaii training for the Ironman Triathlon.
Jacon is passionate about the profession of physical therapy and the ability to benefit people by helping them to feel better, move better, and perform better. Empowering and educating people to improve their quality of life by possibly avoiding medications or surgery is one of his professional goals. Jacon has been an adjunct faculty member at Samuel Merritt University’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy program and currently serves as Clinical Specialist for AlterG, makers of the Anti-Gravity Treadmill and the Bionic Leg.
When he is not in the clinic, Jacon enjoys spending his spare time having a nice meal with his wife and learning about Disney princesses his three young daughters. With any leftover moments, he enjoys rooting for his Bay Area Sports Teams.
Zach attended Concordia University in Nebraska where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Upon graduation, he earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Concordia University in Wisconsin. Prior to moving to Austin, he practiced as a physical therapist in the Milwaukee area.
Zach is currently working on his Manual Therapy Certification through Evidence In Motion and plans to pursue his Orthopedic Specialty certification. Having been raised in a family of educators, Zach is passionate about education and explaining the science behind treatment.
Often described as an avid runner, Zach met his wife running cross country and track during college, and they both continue to train and compete together. Zach has had the opportunity to travel to a variety of cities for races, offsetting travel expenses with prize money after winning. Now, he puts in a lot more miles using a double stroller with his young children who enjoy the outing, competing mostly in local races. With his remaining spare time, Zach loves being with his family and rooting for all his hometown Colorado sports teams.
Kaylan Thompson graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science followed by her Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree. Awston is dedicated to providing the utmost care possible, implementing evidence based treatment practices in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for his patients.
When he is not in the clinic you can probably catch Awston enjoying time with his wife (Holly) and two pups Bo and Bella relaxing at home or taking in the various dog parks, local breweries, and sights the area has to offer. Awston is an avid sports fan and die hard Raider, Dodger and Laker fan. One reason he moved to Round Rock was for all of the local sports teams and has enjoyed going to Dell Diamond and rooting on the Express and is looking forward to taking in some Cedar Park Stars and Austin Spurs games in the future. as hitting the links for a round here and there.
