Meet the Staff
Dr. Bennett is a co-founder and co-owner of Texas Physical Therapy Specialists.
Andrew Bennett holds a clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT), is board certified In Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS), and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (FAAOMPT). Dr. Bennett was the primary therapist for the Air Force Special Forces Rescue and Survival Teams and served as Director of the Physical Therapy Oral-Maxillofacial Pain Clinic at Lackland Air Force Base for several years before working in a private practice setting.
Dr. Bennett is adjunct faculty and guest lecturer for physical therapy programs at Texas State University in San Marcos, Regis University in Denver, CO, The US Army-Baylor Program at Fort Sam Houston, TX and provides clinical Instruction into the Evidence In Motion Post Graduate Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency and the Evidence In Motion Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship. He has been recognized for excellence in clinical education by the Texas Consortium and is a recipient of the Warren C. Smyth award in recognition of professional clinical and educational expertise, innovative delivery of care, commitment to physical therapy private practice, and community service. Additionally, he was chosen by the San Antonio Business Journal as a 2015 recipient of their 40 Under 40 awards.
Dr. Bennett and his wife, Heather, met while finishing their undergraduate training in physical therapy as classmates. Heather was instrumental in helping to establish TexPTS and is now the CEO of the Bennett home and their six children.
Barbara Guarriello completed her undergraduate degree at Washington University in St. Louis where she majored in psychology and dance. She danced professionally, worked as a consultant for non-profit arts organizations, and taught preschool prior to enrolling in graduate school. Barbara graduated from George Washington University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT). She completed the Manual Physical Therapy Certification program through Evidence In Motion (EIM) and is a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedics (OCS).Barbara enjoys treating dancers and is happy to provide care for Ballet San Antonio’s artists.
Barbara is a certified yoga instructor, and when she is not in the clinic she enjoys spending time with her husband David, daughter Gabriella, and her son John.
Elise’s lengthy list of credentials began with her Bachelor’s degree in dance from Texas Woman’s University, where she also performed with the national touring company and danced professionally even while enrolled in physical therapy school (now that’s what we call multitasking)!
She went on to receive her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Now, she is also a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopaedics and has studied extensively with the International Spine and Pain Institute, earning her credentials as a Certified Spine Manual Therapist.
In 2019, Elise completed her Fellowship training and earned the prestigious title of Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. She also enjoys teaching and mentoring and currently acts as a faculty member at both Bellin College and Evidence In Motion (EIM). Additionally, she’s involved in Evidence In Motion’s Residency Program, both onsite at TexPTS Stone Oak and abroad. Elise certainly knows what’s what in the physical therapy world.
Dr. Marcos Lopez PT, is native to El Paso, Texas and completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree at University of Texas El Paso. He graduated from the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and is a board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist.
He completed the Therapeutic Pain Specialist program through International Spine and Pain Institute and currently is enrolled in Evidence in Motion’s Fellowship in Manual Physical Therapy program. He currently lectures the pain neuroscience curriculum to the UTSW DPT and orthopedic physical therapy residency programs.
Marcos is a proud uncle to his nephew, Andres and niece, Alexa. When not working in the clinic, he enjoys outdoor activities like hiking or floating the river, listening to live music, and thoroughly enjoys brunch food.
Dr. Kovacevic completed his Bachelor’s degree in Health Science at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. While at Bradley University completing his undergraduate degree, he was also on the Bradley Men’s Soccer Team and competed at the Division I level for all 4 years. Zach went on to continue his tenure at Bradley University to complete his clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Upon graduation, he moved to Texas to join the TexPTS team.
Zach is currently enrolled in Evidence In Motion’s Orthopedic Residency program at TexPTS. His professional interests include intervening with patients of all ages primarily those with orthopedic and chronic pain conditions and getting them back to doing what they love.
In his spare time, Zach enjoys reading, exercising, and being outdoors with his fiancé, Danielle, exploring what the rest of Texas has to offer.
Dr. Leanna Garza earned her Bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science with a psychology minor from Texas State University in San Marcos. Leanna went on to complete her Physical Therapy degree from South College in Knoxville, TN.
Dr. Garza plans to complete an orthopedic residency with Evidence In Motion to become Board Certified in Orthopedics. Leanna enjoys working with all rehab injuries and takes interest in the geriatric population.
Leanna is from Hondo, Texas and enjoys being close to her family. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, playing tennis, watching Netflix, and finding new eatery’s.
Caitlin Bullard, a native of College Station, received her bachelor’s degree in Health Science from Texas A&M University, and became a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant after attending Blinn College.
Caitlin is in the process of completing Evidence in Motion’s PTA Specialty Certification in Orthopedics program.
Having grown up dancing, Caitlin enjoys competitive dance and worked throughout her studies as an instructor and choreographer. In her spare time, she loves all things sports (especially football) and attends Texas A&M games regularly. She also enjoys touring the Texas countryside in her 1931 Model A pickup truck that she restored with her father.
Alanna received her Associate of Applied Science, Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay, WI in May 2019. She will also be starting the Evidence in Motion’s PTA Specialty Certification in Orthopedics program in the September of 2019.
She grew up playing softball and volleyball through sports she developed a strong love of orthopedics. Alanna especially enjoys learning new techniques to treat patients. She takes special interest in sports related injuries and helping athletes return to their sport.
Alanna moved to San Antonio after graduating in May and enjoys spending time exploring and learning more about the city. When not at work, she is typically reading a good book, binge watching a new series on TV, or spending time outdoors.
Morgan attended Clemson University and received Associate of Applied Science in the Physical Therapist Assistant program at Horry-Georgetown Technical College in Myrtle Beach, SC. She is currently enrolled in Evidence in Motion’s PTA Speciality Certification in Orthopedics program.
Morgan enjoys working with orthopedic patients of all ages and conditions.
Morgan is originally from South Carolina and enjoys exploring her new city San Antonio area. She also loves watching movies, traveling and going to the lake.
