Dr. Bennett is a co-founder and co-owner of Texas Physical Therapy Specialists.
Andrew Bennett holds a clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT), is board certified In Orthopaedic Physical Therapy (OCS), and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (FAAOMPT). Dr. Bennett was the primary therapist for the Air Force Special Forces Rescue and Survival Teams and served as Director of the Physical Therapy Oral-Maxillofacial Pain Clinic at Lackland Air Force Base for several years before working in a private practice setting.
Dr. Bennett is adjunct faculty and guest lecturer for physical therapy programs at Texas State University in San Marcos, Regis University in Denver, CO, The US Army-Baylor Program at Fort Sam Houston, TX and provides clinical Instruction into the Evidence In Motion Post Graduate Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency and the Evidence In Motion Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship. He has been recognized for excellence in clinical education by the Texas Consortium and is a recipient of the Warren C. Smyth award in recognition of professional clinical and educational expertise, innovative delivery of care, commitment to physical therapy private practice, and community service. Additionally, he was chosen by the San Antonio Business Journal as a 2015 recipient of their 40 Under 40 awards.
Dr. Bennett and his wife, Heather, met while finishing their undergraduate training in physical therapy as classmates. Heather was instrumental in helping to establish TexPTS and is now the CEO of the Bennett home and their six children.

Alanna received her Associate of Applied Science, Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay, WI in May 2019. She will also be starting the Evidence in Motion’s PTA Specialty Certification in Orthopedics program in the September of 2019.
She grew up playing softball and volleyball through sports she developed a strong love of orthopedics. Alanna especially enjoys learning new techniques to treat patients. She takes special interest in sports related injuries and helping athletes return to their sport.
Alanna moved to San Antonio after graduating in May and enjoys spending time exploring and learning more about the city. When not at work, she is typically reading a good book, binge watching a new series on TV, or spending time outdoors.

Caitlin Bullard, a native of College Station, received her bachelor’s degree in Health Science from Texas A&M University, and became a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant after attending Blinn College.
Caitlin is in the process of completing Evidence in Motion’s PTA Specialty Certification in Orthopaedics program.
Having grown up dancing, Caitlin enjoys competitive dance and worked throughout her studies as an instructor and choreographer. In her spare time, she loves all things sports (especially football) and attends Texas A&M games regularly. She also enjoys touring the Texas countryside in her 1931 Model A pickup truck that she restored with her father.

Morgan attended Clemson University and received Associate of Applied Science in the Physical Therapist Assistant program at Horry-Georgetown Technical College in Myrtle Beach, SC. She is currently enrolled in Evidence in Motion’s PTA Speciality Certification in Orthopaedics program.
Morgan enjoys working with orthopaedic patients of all ages and conditions.
Morgan is originally from South Carolina and enjoys exploring her new city San Antonio area. She also loves watching movies, traveling and going to the lake.

Mark earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, specializing in Athletic Medicine, from The University of Texas at San Antonio and his Associate of Applied Science Degree, Physical Therapist Assistant from Concorde Career College. He plans to enroll in the next cohort of Evidence In Motion’s PTA Certificate program.
Mark enjoys working with all types of rehab injuries.
When he’s not in the clinic, Mark loves to spend time with family, traveling, going to the movies, or just relaxing at home. He also enjoys working out at the gym, playing video games, and hanging out with friends, here or in his hometown, Corpus Christi, TX.
Leanna GarzaPT, DPT
Dr. Leanna Garza earned her Bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science with a psychology minor from Texas State University in San Marcos. Leanna went on to complete her Physical Therapy degree from South College in Knoxville, TN.
Dr. Garza plans to complete an orthopaedic residency with Evidence In Motion to become Board Certified in Orthopaedics. Leanna enjoys working with all rehab injuries and takes interest in the geriatric population.
Leanna is from Hondo, Texas and enjoys being close to her family. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, playing tennis, watching Netflix, and finding new eatery’s.
Barbara GuarrielloPT, DPT, OCS

Barbara Guarriello completed her undergraduate degree at Washington University in St. Louis where she majored in psychology and dance. She danced professionally, worked as a consultant for non-profit arts organizations, and taught preschool prior to enrolling in graduate school. Barbara graduated from George Washington University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT). She completed the Manual Physical Therapy Certification program through Evidence In Motion (EIM) and is a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedics (OCS).Barbara enjoys treating dancers and is happy to provide care for Ballet San Antonio’s artists.
Barbara is a certified yoga instructor, and when she is not in the clinic she enjoys spending time with her husband David, daughter Gabriella, and her son John.
Armin HornikelPT, DPT
Dr. Armin Hornikel earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Upon graduating, he obtained his clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
In June of 2018, Dr. Hornikel moved to San Antonio, Texas to join the TexPTS team and complete his Orthopaedic Clinical Residency through Evidence In Motion. Dr. Hornikel takes interest in working with individuals affected by low back limitations and chronic conditions. As a former collegiate athlete, he enjoys helping his patients rehabilitate so they can quickly get back their to optimal physical function and the activities they enjoy most.
Originally from Böblingen, Germany, Dr. Hornikel has spent his time living between Germany and the United States recently becoming a U.S. citizen. When he’s not working in the clinic, he spends his time trying new cooking recipes, exploring the San Antonio area, and training for triathlons.
Kerrie graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Athletic Medicine concentration. She then earned her Associate’s physical therapy assistant degree from St. Philip’s College. She plans to continue her education through Evidence in Motion’s PTA Specialty Certification in January 2020.
In the clinic, Kerrie strives to provide the best orthopaedic care for all conditions and enjoys treating patients of all ages.
In her free time, Kerrie enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also loves being outdoors hiking and traveling.
Zach KovacevicPT, DPT
Dr. Kovacevic completed his Bachelor’s degree in Health Science at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. While at Bradley University completing his undergraduate degree, he was also on the Bradley Men’s Soccer Team and competed at the Division I level for all 4 years. Zach went on to continue his tenure at Bradley University to complete his clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Upon graduation, he moved to Texas to join the TexPTS team.
Zach is currently enrolled in Evidence In Motion’s Orthopedic Residency program at TexPTS. His professional interests include intervening with patients of all ages primarily those with orthopaedic and chronic pain conditions and getting them back to doing what they love.
In his spare time, Zach enjoys reading, exercising, and being outdoors with his fiancé, Danielle, exploring what the rest of Texas has to offer.
Marcos LopezPT, DPT
Dr. Marcos Lopez PT, is native to El Paso, Texas and completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree at University of Texas El Paso. He graduated from the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and is a board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist.
He completed the Therapeutic Pain Specialist program through International Spine and Pain Institute and currently is enrolled in Evidence in Motion’s Fellowship in Manual Physical Therapy program. He currently lectures the pain neuroscience curriculum to the UTSW DPT and orthopedic physical therapy residency programs.
Marcos is a proud uncle to his nephew, Andres and niece, Alexa. When not working in the clinic, he enjoys outdoor activities like hiking or floating the river, listening to live music, and thoroughly enjoys brunch food.
Victoria LyonsPT, DPT
Dr. Victoria Lyons received a Bachelors degree in kinesiology from Texas A&M San Antonio and went on to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at South College in Knoxville,TN.
Victoria’s professional interests include working with patients of all ages to rehab injuries, combat pain, and live healthy lifestyles. She has plans to complete a Manual Therapy Certification and become an Orthopedic Certified Specialist.
Dr. Lyons’ is a San Antonio native with a love for all things Texas! She and her husband recently welcomed home a baby boy and are loving the adventure of being new parents. She also enjoys exercise, finding new restaurants, and spending time outdoors
Gina MartinezPT, DPT
Dr. Gina Martinez completed her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Sports Management at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. Gina went on to obtain her clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of St. Augustine in Austin, TX. Upon graduation, she relocated to her hometown of San Antonio to join the TexPTS team in Stone Oak.
Dr. Martinez is currently completing an Orthopaedic Residency through Evidence in Motion to become an Orthopaedic Certified Specialist (OCS). Gina’s professional interests include rehabilitating patients ranging from the geriatric population to student athletes. Based on her exercise and sports background, she understands rehabilitation can take time and patience and therefore she enjoys working closely with patients to get them back to optimal movement to improve the human experience.
When not working in the clinic, Gina enjoys outdoor activities including training for half-marathons and hiking, spending time with her three older sisters, and playing with her 1-year old kitten.
Elise WendorfPT, DPT, OCS, CSMT
Elise Wendorf received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Prior to this, Elise received her BA in Dance from Texas Woman’s University where she performed with the national touring company as well as danced professionally during physical therapy school. Elise is a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedics (OCS) and has also studied extensively with the International Spine and Pain Institute, becoming a Certified Spinal Manual Therapist (CSMT) in 2015.
Elise is currently a Fellow-in-Training in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy through Evidence in Motion (EIM). She relocated from Dallas to San Antonio to be a part of the TexPTS team during the completion of her fellowship and is thrilled to serve this community through the culture of TexPTS.
Elise and her husband, Justin, have two young daughters and can most often be found outside in nature: hiking, riding horses, or just exploring and enjoying the outdoors!
