  • Andrew Bennett

    Andrew BennettPT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

    Dr. Bennett is a co-founder and co-owner of Texas Physical Therapy Specialists.

    Andrew Bennett holds a clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT), is board certified In Orthopaedic Physical Therapy (OCS), and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (FAAOMPT). Dr. Bennett was the primary therapist for the Air Force Special Forces Rescue and Survival Teams and served as Director of the Physical Therapy Oral-Maxillofacial Pain Clinic at Lackland Air Force Base for several years before working in a private practice setting.

    Dr. Bennett is adjunct faculty and guest lecturer for physical therapy programs at Texas State University in San Marcos, Regis University in Denver, CO, The US Army-Baylor Program at Fort Sam Houston, TX and provides clinical Instruction into the Evidence In Motion Post Graduate Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency and the Evidence In Motion Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship. He has been recognized for excellence in clinical education by the Texas Consortium and is a recipient of the Warren C. Smyth award in recognition of professional clinical and educational expertise, innovative delivery of care, commitment to physical therapy private practice, and community service.  Additionally, he was chosen by the San Antonio Business Journal as a 2015 recipient of their 40 Under 40 awards.

    Dr. Bennett and his wife, Heather, met while finishing their undergraduate training in physical therapy as classmates. Heather was instrumental in helping to establish TexPTS and is now the CEO of the Bennett home and their six children.

  • Leanna Garcia

    Leanna GarciaPT, DPT

    Dr. Leanna Garza earned her Bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science with a psychology minor from Texas State University in San Marcos. Leanna went on to complete her Physical Therapy degree from South College in Knoxville, TN.

    Dr. Garza plans to complete an orthopaedic residency with Evidence In Motion to become Board Certified in Orthopaedics. Leanna enjoys working with all rehab injuries and takes interest in the geriatric population.

    Leanna is from Hondo, Texas and enjoys being close to her family. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, playing tennis, watching Netflix, and finding new eatery’s.

  • Chris Giegel

    Chris GiegelPT, DPT

    Dr. Giegel completed his Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. He attended South College in Knoxville, TN as part of their charter class where he graduated with a clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy. His terminal internship took place at the TexPTS New Braunfels clinic. Following graduation, he returned to Texas PTS to begin working as a full time Resident in Evidence in Motion’s Orthopedic Residency program.

    Dr. Giegel is an active American Physical Therapy Association member with a special interest in sports rehabilitation and chronic conditions. He enjoys working with patients at all ages and levels of fitness in order to get them back to doing what they love.

    Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Giegel has been happy to quickly make so many close friends since moving in January, 2017. He enjoys woodworking, exercising, and exploring the San Antonio and Austin areas.

  • Barbara Guarriello

    Barbara GuarrielloPT, DPT, OCS

    Barbara Guarriello completed her undergraduate degree at Washington University in St. Louis where she majored in psychology and dance. She danced professionally, worked as a consultant for non-profit arts organizations, and taught preschool prior to enrolling in graduate school.

    Barbara graduated from George Washington University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT). She completed the Manual Physical Therapy Certification program through Evidence In Motion (EIM) and is a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedics (OCS).

    Barbara is a certified yoga instructor, and when she is not in the clinic she enjoys spending time with her husband, David, and daughter, Gabriella.

  • Armin Hornikel

    Armin HornikelPT, DPT

    Dr. Armin Hornikel earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Upon graduating, he obtained his clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

    In June of 2018, Dr. Hornikel moved to San Antonio, Texas to join the TexPTS team and complete his Orthopaedic Clinical Residency through Evidence In Motion. Dr. Hornikel takes interest in working with individuals affected by low back limitations and chronic conditions. As a former collegiate athlete, he enjoys helping his patients rehabilitate so they can quickly get back their to optimal physical function and the activities they enjoy most.

    Originally from Böblingen, Germany, Dr. Hornikel has spent his time living between Germany and the United States recently becoming a U.S. citizen.  When he’s not working in the clinic, he spends his time trying new cooking recipes, exploring the San Antonio area, and training for triathlons.

  • Zach Kovacevic

    Zach KovacevicPT, DPT

    Dr. Kovacevic completed his Bachelor’s degree in Health Science at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. While at Bradley University completing his undergraduate degree, he was also on the Bradley Men’s Soccer Team and competed at the Division I level for all 4 years. Zach went on to continue his tenure at Bradley University to complete his clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Upon graduation, he moved to Texas to join the TexPTS team.

    Zach is currently enrolled in Evidence In Motion’s Orthopedic Residency program at TexPTS. His professional interests include intervening with patients of all ages primarily those with orthopaedic and chronic pain conditions and getting them back to doing what they love.

    In his spare time, Zach enjoys reading, exercising, and being outdoors with his fiancé, Danielle, exploring what the rest of Texas has to offer.

  • Marcos Lopez

    Marcos LopezPT, DPT

    Dr. Marcos Lopez PT, is native to El Paso, Texas and completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree at University of Texas El Paso. He graduated from the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and is a board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist.

    He completed the Therapeutic Pain Specialist program through International Spine and Pain Institute and currently is enrolled in Evidence in Motion’s Fellowship in Manual Physical Therapy program. He currently lectures the pain neuroscience curriculum to the UTSW DPT and orthopedic physical therapy residency programs.

    Marcos is a proud uncle to his nephew, Andres and niece, Alexa. When not working in the clinic, he enjoys outdoor activities like hiking or floating the river, listening to live music, and thoroughly enjoys brunch food.​

  • Victoria Lyons

    Victoria LyonsPT, DPT

    Dr. Victoria Lyons received a Bachelors degree in kinesiology from Texas A&M San Antonio and went on to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at South College in Knoxville,TN.

    Victoria’s professional interests include working with patients of all ages to rehab injuries, combat pain, and live healthy lifestyles. She has plans to complete a Manual Therapy Certification and become an Orthopedic Certified Specialist.

    Dr. Lyons’ is a San Antonio native with a love for all things Texas!  She and her husband recently welcomed home a baby boy and are loving the adventure of being new parents.  She also enjoys exercise, finding new restaurants, and spending time outdoors

  • Elise Wendorf

    Elise WendorfPT, DPT, OCS, CSMT

    Elise Wendorf received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Prior to this, Elise received her BA in Dance from Texas Woman’s University where she performed with the national touring company as well as danced professionally during physical therapy school. Elise is a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedics (OCS) and has also studied extensively with the International Spine and Pain Institute, becoming a Certified Spinal Manual Therapist (CSMT) in 2015.

    Elise is currently a Fellow-in-Training in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy through Evidence in Motion (EIM). She relocated from Dallas to San Antonio to be a part of the TexPTS team during the completion of her fellowship and is thrilled to serve this community through the culture of TexPTS.

    Elise and her husband, Justin, have two young daughters and can most often be found outside in nature: hiking, riding horses, or just exploring and enjoying the outdoors!
