Get back to the life you love with rehabilitation from TexPTS.
When you’re living with aches, pains or sprains from a musculoskeletal injury, it can be hard to fully participate in your daily life. You shouldn’t have to spend a lot of time and money on solutions like injections, surgeries, or MRI’s, without finding lasting relief. And you definitely shouldn’t have to “just live with it.”
That’s where we come in.
Let our team of specialized therapists use the latest methods to get to the cause of whatever is holding you back–and then help fix it.
Here’s how we help:
Orthopedic & Manual Physical Therapy
Orthopedics is the medical specialty dedicated to preserving and restoring function in the musculoskeletal system, which includes bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and nerves.
At TexPTS, many of our physical therapists are APTA board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialists.
The advanced clinical knowledge and skill set that comes with a Board Certification allows physical therapists to better treat the patients in their specialty and keeps them up-to-date with cutting edge research and technology. The OCS certification focuses on evidence-based practice, orthopedic injury examination, treatment, and medical interventions. Only 3.9% of therapists in the United States are Orthopedic Clinical Specialists.
Orthopedic physical therapy is used to treat both non-surgical and post-surgical patients with the following conditions:
- Muscle weakness and imbalance
- Spinal and other joint alignment dysfunction
- Post-operative or inflammatory swelling
- Fractures and broken bones
- Joint and muscle pain
- Tendonitis and bursitis
Manual physical therapy is a hands-on technique that is used to decrease pain and improve range-of-motion and flexibility to stiff joints and muscles. Mobilization and manipulation are key components of manual therapy; both techniques restore the power of movement to joints & associated muscles.
All TexPTS physical therapists receive additional training in manual physical therapy or are Fellows in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy.
Patients with a variety of disabilities and orthopedic conditions may benefit from manual physical therapy. Current research confirms that manual physical therapy combined with therapeutic exercise can produce rapid pain relief and improved function in the following conditions and many others:
- Low-back pain
- Neck pain
- Hip and knee osteoarthritis
- Shoulder pain

Persistent Pain, or Chronic Pain, is pain that lasts for weeks, months or years. For some, Chronic Pain can be the result of an injury, or may be due to an ongoing problem like arthritis.
Physical therapy has been shown to not only reduce after effects of fatigue and weakness from cancer treatment, but also to improve strength and help patients get back to the things they were able to do prior to cancer treatment. Physical therapy is also helpful in decreasing the chance of developing lymphedema, frozen shoulder, rotator cuff issues, and posture weakness.
Physical therapy with TexPTS can reduce or eliminate pain, prevent surgery, and eliminate the need for medication in patients with pelvic pain, incontinence, and pregnancy or postpartum issues.
